Beginner Roller Skating Lessons at the Skatin' Place (Ages 5 & Up)

Skatin' Place teaches beginner skate lessons a few times each year. This program is 4 weeks long and is held Sunday nights 5:30-6:30 PM. All ages can join, but they usually see kids ages 5-12. 

Skatin' Place teaches through games the safety and basics of roller and in-line skating. Lessons are taught by SCAR Derby, your local roller derby team. Please note, your child may want to join our youth derby team after learning to roller skate. 

Lessons are intended for first timers, come 10-15 minutes early, and be ready to have fun! 

Bring to class: Water bottle, a helmet, wrist guards, knee pads and elbow pads, your own pair of roller skates. Skatin' Place sells a combo pack of wrist, knee, and elbow pads, if needed. Skatin' Place helmets are a bit expensive because they're top tier roller derby equipment; they'd recommend bringing your own bike helmet from home.  Skates are available for rental for an additional charge (bring cash or credit card) of $5/pair (tax included).
