My Path 101: Understanding Programs, Services, VRS, and Waiver SupportCommunity ConcernsNEW! My Path’s mission is to build confidence and independence in individuals of all abilities while supporting them in reaching their personal, educational, and employment goals. Through a person-centered, client-driven approach, My Path programs help people with disabilities explore careers, prepare for college, build workplace and independent living skills, and grow confidence through advocacy and self-empowerment. Additional supports include job search skills, cash-handling training, and preparation for the Minnesota driver’s permit exam. This three-session offering begins with an overview of how My Path works with VRS and waivers, continues with a deeper look at our services, and concludes with a pizza social where participants can meet our team. The PEERS® Conversation & Friendship class is an evidence-supported, research-based social skills program developed at UCLA and taught by My Path Specialists. Designed for young adults, this 6-week course builds practical conversation and friendship skills through structured lessons, role-play demonstrations, and guided socialization activities. Participants gain practical tools to start conversations, use humor naturally, navigate digital communication, and build lasting friendships. This is the same proven program featured on Love on the Spectrum! Join us for two sessions: an introduction to the PEERS® program, followed by a pizza social where you’ll experience PEERS® in action. My Path Coaching and Consulting offers family consulting and advocacy to support individuals and families in navigating services, planning for transitions, and accessing long-term supports. No matter where you are in your journey, My Path will empower you as an advocate for individuals with disabilities. We assist with community-based services, VRS, DHS waivers, benefits coaching, and understanding how employment impacts benefits. Our services include special education advocacy, IEP and evaluation review, transition planning from age 14 through adulthood, guidance on ages 18–22 programming, independent living and housing options, employment supports, and guardianship planning.
