Step back in time with a guided tour of St. Cloud's historic Foley Mansion, a stunning Richardsonian home built in 1897–1898 by lumber and railroad baron Timothy Foley. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1978, this beautiful Victorian home has risen from the ashes of a debilitating fire and has been returned to its original grandeur. Your guide will take you through the restoration of the home as well as the daily living of the family in the Victorian era. With this year marking the 63rd anniversary of the tragic assassination of President John F. Kennedy, you will examine the discrepancies between the Warren Commission (that investigated the assassination for ten months and published their findings in September 1964) along with the conclusions reached by the United States House of Representatives that investigated the assassination for thirty-one months and published their report in March 1979. You'll develop broader perspective regarding many of the controversies surrounding the assassination of President Kennedy with time for discussion and questions at the end of each class.
